Trivandrum: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan after meeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that the PM had given an assurance that the ration allocation, which was cut, will be restored soon.
The chief minister met the prime minister in New Delhi on Monday.
After the meeting, Vijayan said that Modi understood how the cut in ration allotment had affected the public distribution system in Kerala.
|"The PM has realized that the present Food Security Act had severely
affected states like Kerala. Realizing the situation, he promised to
intervene and restore the allocation," said Vijayan.
The CM said the previous UDF government's failure resulted in an delay that led to the current crisis. The new government got very little time to implement the same, he said.
The state government has assured the prime minister that there will be no delay in implementing the act, he added.
