Trivandrum: Work on the new bus terminal at East Fort is expected to commence soon once Trida gets final ground report regarding drainage works of Operation Anantha at Attakulangara School.

"The plan is ready and funds are in place. However, we need a final report regarding the drainage works being carried out as part of Operation Anantha in the area. We do not think it will affect the project much. The report will be ready by end of this
week," Trida chairman P K Venugopal said.

The bus terminal will be built on the 1.65 acres of land that was made available to Trida from the campus space of Attakulangara school. The upcoming project is expected to go a long way in easing the congestion at East Fort area.

However, there is no progress on the proposed Medical college skywalk project conceived to ease congestion over there.

"The skywalk project has been included in the Capital Region Development Project and will take time to come out of drawing board stage," said Venugopal.
