UST Global Develops My Tourist Assist App

Trivandrum: Tourism Malaysia has announced the launch of My Tourist AssistTM (MyTA) mobile app to support safe travel of tourists in the country. The app is developed by Technopark-based UST Global and managed by local Malaysian company Jana Tiga Holdings Sdn Bhd.

My Tourist Assist™ is an e-Government service under Tourism Malaysia who has recognised the importance of safety for tourists in Malaysia, especially in the event of natural disasters in the region. Malaysia plays host to millions of tourists every year and is one of the most visited countries in the world.  

Key features of the app include ‘UrSafe’ tab with SOS button for sending alert to their dear one in the event of an emergency and security services to be immediately alerted. The app also lists various ‘Essential Services’ like Police Stations, Hospitals, Pharmacy, ATMs, Embassy, Train Stations and Petrol Pumps. 

Commenting on the launch, Gilroy Mathew, Head - APAC, UST Global, said, “We successfully launched URsafe back in India and we are proud to bring the same for the safety of tourists in Malaysia.” Dato James Wong, Chairman, Jana Tiga, said, “I’m proud to bring this app as it would certainly make the travel of tourists safer in Malaysia.”

The app is available for download on Google Play and App Store.
