The Sri Chitra Art gallery is also one of the proud residents of the museum grounds. This is an art lover's paradise. It has a vast collection of paintings from India, Japan, China and Indonesia. The works of Raja Ravi Varma, Rabindranath Tagore, Jamini Roy and K K Hebar honour the walls of the gallery, attracting one and all. One can find the famous Tanjore paintings here. Among the other artworks preserved, the Mughal, Rajasthani and Rajput paintings are worth mentioning. There is also a collection of Chinese, Tibetan and Japanese artworks in the gallery.
