Smoking in public in india

I am just irritated by peoople who doesnt respect others when they smoke in public places...i have seen police officials being so stringent with fine for not wearing helmets which they are so happy to fine all of us but i have never ever seen in publc any one being fined ever at all after the ban on smoking in india at public places . i like to know others take on the issue...

I agree with u totally. Even I despise smokers but everyone has the right to do what they want PROVIDED they follow some rules and regulations and most importantly they dont disturb others. This is a common scene in small tea-shops where smokers gather to enjoy a puff while having tea. If they move away and do it in solitude, then its fine but they stand their ground in the middle of the crowd and smoke in a carefree manner. No-one (including me) will protest fearing what other people will think :(
