Sreevaraham temple festival

Some days it begins from morning 5 am to night 12. Continuous noise in high decibels, I leave it to the citizens of Sreevaraham to debate over the necessity. But it is simply ungrateful for the organisers to punish the people with high uninterrupted noise over speakers for 10 days.

Absolutely agree with Paramgiri. Every day seems to be noisy festival time in Trivandrum. Wake-up call at 5 am to noisy temple music after being kicked out of bed at midnight with the never-ending burst of firecrackers. In the land of so-called 100% literacy do we have to put up with illiterate festival organizers and equally unconcerned civic authorities who are supposed to ensure that the law on sound pollution is followed by one and all? The tourism department needs to come out of its delusions of grandeur and take stock of this situation if it wants tourists to continue visiting this misnomer called "God's Own Country where "your moment of death is waiting" ...!

i agree that sound pollution is there...lot of things are not what they should be...but does it end with just sound pollutuion...Sylvia Francis... you are being too much cynical... does only temples put out voice??? if you hate a place that much ...then pack your bags and go to a place that will make you satisfied...being a christian doesnt mean having disrespect for people of other religions...
